Career paths are rarely linear, and for CCIS graduate Keio Kärdla, the journey to becoming a cyber insurance broker was anything but ordinary. He began his career in the entertainment industry, transitioned to IT, and eventually landed in the world of cyber as a Cyber Insurance Broker at Howden. His passion for interpersonal relations drove him to continuing education and the Certified Cyber Insurance Specialist course (CCIS), part of our prestigious Specialist Membership.
A Career Transition from Entertainment to Insurance
Kärdla spent over a decade in the entertainment industry and IT and although he had a knack for the field he felt unfulfilled. “The missing part was communication,” he explained. “I’ve always been a people person.” Despite the technical depth of his IT role, the lack of interpersonal interaction left him wanting more. So, when the opportunity to transition into cyber insurance arose, he couldn’t pass up the opportunity. The field offered a perfect blend of technical knowledge and client-facing interaction – a perfect combination for Kärdla.
Leveraging the CCIS Course for a Career Change
Transitioning into a career in cyber insurance required a solid foundation of industry knowledge.
