About this event
AI is changing how attacks are carried out. Is it changing what insurers pay out for? Coalition went to its own claims data to find out, across anonymised claims from more than 110,000 policyholders worldwide. This masterclass walks through the findings of Coalition’s report, How AI Impacts Cyber Risk, with the researcher who leads emerging risk work there.
The picture so far is not the one the headlines suggest. Claims are broadly stable, and there is no sign yet of elevated losses from agentic AI. Business email compromise is the exception: those claims rose by around 30% in late 2025 and have kept climbing, which Coalition reads as attackers already using AI to automate the fraud. Ransomware has not moved the same way, and deepfake fraud, while growing, still rarely does real damage to a business.
Daniel Woods explains why AI risk tends to stay flat and then climb sharply once attackers find a business model that pays, where that is starting to happen, and what it means in practice: how to underwrite to the risk, and how to advise clients on it.
The session runs for 60 minutes: 45 minutes on the findings, then 15 minutes of live Q&A hosted by Guy Simkin, CEO of Cyber Insurance Academy. It is built for brokers, underwriters and claims professionals, and for the security leaders who buy cyber cover.
This masterclass is based on a Coalition report and presented by Coalition. It is an educational session, not a product presentation.
